The roots of mathematics

Abstract

A mathematical formula consists of numbers (with the natural numbers as the most basic numbers) and operators (with the addition as the most basic operator). Many other operators are in one way or the other related to the addition.

An overview is given of the structure behind numbers based on their relation to the operators addition, multiplication and exponentiation.

There are two basic sequences: the arithmatic sequence and the geometric sequence. A third sequence (the recurrence sequence) will be added because this sequence forms the basis for the Fibonacci sequences.
